King of the Hill
Sunday, October 21, 2007 at 06:07PM King of the Hill
You wonder who’s going to be on top
But I’m already here
Lavender thrills
From breathin down your neck, eat your pills
That won’t stop your chills
Be careful to wear summer clothes, hot water
Will bleed through your colors
Red carpets are gray to the dogs, no color
Don’t act like you own it
You’ll never ever see me ‘cause you think you’re on fire
I lay below the limelight to accomplish my style
Don’t question the existence of a fight for the power
The hill has room for one to build their own lonely tower
It’s not the clothes that we wear, it’s not the color or hair
That makes us feel that we are not empty
Forget the fans and the fare, they don’t pay you to stare
Do you remember how to love and how to care?
King of the hill
Exposure makes you tic and tock
But naked is my thrill
The drugs that you feel
The highs a false sense of secure
Lower than you already were
You’re sittin around in your mud, roll over
You need to be covered
You’re disgusting habits and your life is showing
You might need another
Is yesterday the way to say you’re on your way up
The past is gone and sulking in it is not enough
I question your persistence to make this end
You’re livin the same day again and again
It’s not the clothes that we wear, it’s not the color or hair
That makes us feel that we are not empty
Forget the fans and the fare, they don’t pay you to stare
Do you remember how to love and how to care?
