Fresh Air
Thursday, February 5, 2009 at 02:18PM Hiking in mountains can be so invigorating
Fresh air doesn’t come for free in this big city, but I like to go that pace, lazilly
Make sure I don’t miss a detail I pass, although I don’t really pay attention
From a birds eye view it’s really not that far
Only 3-D perception can explain me as a phenomenon
Running has its rewards when I wipe that sweat away to look back at what I have outrun
Eventually it’ll catch up, unless I want to run forever
Which isn’t so bad when you live near the beach
It takes time to absorb the sun, this is where I catch my breath
Hidden from the shadows in the big spotlight
But it’s not all fame and fortune, for cancer comes here
Thriving in the ego’s delight
It’s easy to ignore, you can block it with dreams
Riches galore and hidden corners of the world
I remember the air up North in Michigan
The time during fall when the dew is just barely forming crystals
As the temperature dances on the door of freezing
It as if the cool air cleanses your longs and soul
You remember how it feels to be alive
Fresh Air
